Frequently asked questions

Getting started

How do you onboard new employees remotely?

We've overhauled our approach to onboarding, and now all new employees are welcomed and onboarded online. We'll ship all the necessary equipment and documents to your preferred address. As far as the onboarding process goes, it's a series of live meetings with representatives from each department and team. If the time difference is an issue, we hold dedicated onboarding meetups.

How do I get to know people in my team?

The first chance you get to meet people is through onboarding. During your first week, you'll also have an opportunity to meet up with your Buddy – one of your peers who will help orient you. Talk to them if you're not sure who to reach out to. Need help with your computer and not sure who to contact? Ask your Buddy. Lost in the long list of names on Slack while searching for a particular answer? Ask your Buddy. Last but not least, you'll get a chance to meet your team through your daily and weekly work meetings as well as after-work activities.

Do I need to use my personal computer?

No, we'll ship all the necessary equipment to you.

How is time spent working logged?

The type of your employment agreement will determine whether you need to clock in and out or log time spent on a task.

Team culture

What's the best way to communicate with my team members?

Slack is our top choice to keep information flowing. It's our favorite for a quick conversation between two people and a team discussion. Each team has regular virtual team meetings to catch up and talk shop.

How do I participate in dailies and weeklies across time zones?

Each team sets up its own schedule. If you work across different time zones and can't attend each meeting, contact your team members for meeting notes so you can stay up-to-date.

Are there any mandatory face-to-face meetings?

Nope. You can work 100% remotely and still be involved.

Are there any team-building initiatives?

We're a remote-first company, but each team has a budget for online or offline team activities. On top of that, we have online activities and classes for the whole company to join, including yoga classes and well-being webinars.

Support and development

How do you give feedback?

There's plenty of structured and informal ways we give feedback to each other. From sending kudos on Slack, to one-to-ones with your manager, to dailies, weeklies, and sprint reviews where people have a chance to offer both praise and constructive criticism. Pro tip: We do our best when collaborating. Show your work-in-progress to your peers. They are your most excellent resource.

Is there a mentoring process?

Once you join the company, you're assigned a "Buddy", one of your peers to help you in the first days. After joining the team, your manager and team members will introduce you to your team routine and provide on-the-job training and guidance.

Organization

Am I eligible for employee benefits?

All GetResponse employees receive benefits, no matter the type of contract.

What is the raise and promotion structure?

It varies from team to team. But no worries, you'll get all the necessary information from your manager during your first months.

Are we kept in the loop by the board and decision-makers?

Yes. We hold quarterly GetStrategy Day meetings during which the board members and department representatives summarize last quarter's progress and share plans for the three months.
